Geocomposites based on geosynthetics

Geocomposites are a combination of two or more types of geosynthetics,
made by combining in various combinations of geotextiles, geogrids, flat
geogrids, geomembranes and geomats.
Geocomposites are used for drainage, reinforcement, anti-erosion
protection as well as for waterproofing. The composition of the layers and the use of this material depends
the purpose of its use.

Varieties and applications of geocomposites:

● A drainage geocomposite is a three-dimensional material consisting of a combination of a drainage

waterproofing is a material consisting of a geomembrane bonded with one or two layers of non-woven geotextile. The basic function of the geocomposite is
waterproofing. The geotextile in this case provides protection of the geomembrane from
mechanical damage.
● The anti-erosion geocomposite is a material consisting of a geomat bonded to a nonwoven geotextile.
● Erosion control geocomposite – a material consisting of a geomat bonded to a nonwoven geotextile. The main purpose is to combat soil erosion.
